عنوان Effectiveness of Telemedicine in the Management of Chronic Diseases in the Post-COVID-19 Era: A Systematic Review

چکیده Abstract: Background: Chronic diseases impose a significant global health burden. In the post-COVID-19 era, telemedicine has transitioned from a temporary emergency measure to a permanent, sustainable care model. This study evaluates the multidimensional effectiveness of telemedicine and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in chronic disease management [7]. Method: A hybrid systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. Five major databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, Google Scholar) were comprehensively searched for studies published between 2017 and 2026. Out of over 300 retrieved records, seven high-quality studies were strategically selected based on rigorous inclusion criteria for multidimensional analysis (clinical, psychosocial, technological, and policy) [8]. Finding: Telemedicine significantly improved clinical outcomes, demonstrating enhanced glycemic control, reduced hospital readmissions in renal patients, and increased therapy adherence. It also improved patient satisfaction and cost-efficiency. However, challenges such as the digital divide, data privacy concerns, and infrastructural heterogeneity persist [3]. The integration of AI through predictive algorithms, wearables, and smart chatbots showed immense potential in personalizing remote care, detecting anomalies, and optimizing resource allocation [5]. Conclusion: Telemedicine is an effective, cost-efficient, and sustainable strategy for managing chronic conditions post-pandemic.Integrating AI will further transition remote care toward predictive and equitable models. Overcoming current challenges requires global standardized frameworks, enhanced digital infrastructures, and ethical AI guidelines[4].
