چکیده
Background: Logistics and relief supply chain management are important components of the response to earthquakes. The Iran-Iraq earthquake presented major challenges for relief operations. This scoping review aimed to map the available evidence on the logistics and relief supply chain aspects of the this earthquake. Method: This scoping review mapped the available evidence on logistics and relief supply chains in the Iran-Iraq earthquake. The search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science for publications from 2017 to 2026. English-language studies focusing on this earthquake and on humanitarian logistics or relief chain management were considered. Studies on other earthquakes, limited to geological, engineering, structural perspectives, reviews, letters to the editor, conference abstracts, and editorials, were excluded. Following a staged screening process, 9 articles were included. Data were analyzed qualitatively to derive key themes. Finding: Studies were grouped into four categories: (1) network design and distribution planning, the most studied area, mainly using optimization models; (2) medical supply management, including blood inventory and medication supply chain resilience; (3) casualty evacuation and epidemic control, covering patient transfer, shelter allocation, and Internet-of-Things applications; and (4) operational challenges and relief actors’ roles. Most evidence was model-based and tested on a single event, with few field studies. Demand uncertainty, supply perishability, and weak coordination recurred. Conclusion: Effective earthquake response requires integrated planning that links preparedness with response. Policymakers should invest in pre-positioning of supplies, information systems, and training of humanitarian actors, including volunteers.
