چکیده
Abstract Background and Objective: Hospitals play a fundamental role in maintaining and promoting patients’ health. Therefore, the present qualitative study was conducted to explore the experiences of university managers regarding the provision of healthcare services to Arbaeen pilgrims in newly established hospitals. Materials and Methods: The present study was a qualitative investigation conducted under the ethical approval code IR.MEDILAM.REC.1404.004, aiming to explore the experiences of university managers regarding the provision of healthcare services to Arbaeen pilgrims in newly established hospitals. In this study, 15 officials from the newly established Razi Educational, Therapeutic, and Research Center in Ilam were recruited and interviewed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The main interview questions focused on participants’ experiences of differences in service delivery between newly established hospitals and long-established hospitals in providing healthcare services to Arbaeen pilgrims. Each interview was conducted in a semi-structured format and began with a broad, open-ended question. After transcription and organization, the collected data were coded and analyzed using MAXQDA 2010 software. Data analysis was carried out using a qualitative analysis approach, during which initial codes were identified and then organized into categories and overarching themes for interpretation. Following transcription and systematic organization, the collected data were coded and analyzed with MAXQDA 2010 software. The analysis was carried out using a qualitative analytical approach, in which primary codes were identified and subsequently grouped into categories and overarching themes for interpretation. Results: The findings revealed that the major challenges highlighted by the participants included workforce shortages, the lack of experienced staff, equipment-related problems, challenges in crisis management and decision-making, deficiencies in support infrastructure, and the critical importance of intersectoral coordination. Conclusion: Although newly established hospitals may meet the required standards in terms of physical infrastructure, effective patient care in all circumstances-particularly during special high-demand periods such as Arbaeen-requires comprehensive adherence to standards related not only to physical space, but also to human resources, equipment, support infrastructure, and managerial coordination.
