چکیده
Aims: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) promotes mindful awareness, acceptance, and values-based action. The present study examined the effectiveness of ACT on antisocial core beliefs and self-worth among traumatized adolescents. Methods: This quasi-experimental study used a pretest-posttest control group design with a two-month follow-up. Thirty traumatized adolescents with confirmed diagnoses were selected through clinical interviews and medical record reviews using convenience and purposive sampling. Participants were randomly assigned to an experimental group (n = 15) and a control group (n = 15). The experimental group received eight 90-minute ACT sessions. Data were collected using the Short Form of the Combined Beliefs Questionnaire and the Self-Worth Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using repeated-measures ANOVA in SPSS version 26. Findings: ACT significantly improved antisocial core beliefs and self-worth in the experimental group compared with the control group. Significant time effects and time × group interactions were observed for antisocial core beliefs (F = 26.77, p < .001, ηp² = .489) and self-worth (F = 39.51, p < .001, ηp² = .585), indicating sustained treatment effects at follow-up. Conclusion: ACT was effective in reducing antisocial core beliefs and enhancing self-worth among traumatized adolescents. These findings suggest that ACT can be considered a promising intervention for improving cognitive and psychological functioning in adolescents with trauma experiences.
