چکیده
Aims: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of emotional schema therapy on emotional stability, cognitive integration, and emotional expressiveness in women with Bulimia nervosa. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest follow-up study was conducted with 36 women with Bulimia Nervosa disorder in Isfahan in 1403, selected through purposive sampling and assigned to experimental and control groups (n=18). The experimental group received 12 weekly 90-minute sessions of group emotional schema therapy, while the control group received no intervention. Both groups were assessed at pretest, posttest, and follow-up stages using the Big Five Personality Questionnaire, Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire, and Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire. Findings: The results of repeated-measures analysis of variance showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-test and follow-up stages, and the experimental group obtained higher scores in emotional stability and emotional expressiveness and lower scores in cognitive fusion compared to the pre-test stage, compared to the control group. Conclusion: Based on the results obtained, it can be said that emotional schema therapy is effective in improving emotional stability, cognitive fusion, and emotional expressiveness in women with Bulimia Nervosa and can be used as a treatment option alongside other treatment options.
