چکیده
Abstract Background: Fertility intention may be influenced by socioeconomic status (SES), health-related quality of life (HRQoL), and marital satisfaction. This study examined their associations with fertility intention among women in Gorgan, Iran. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 232 married women aged 16-48 years selected through stratified proportional sampling in 2025. Data were collected using validated measures of SES, HRQoL (WHOQOL-BREF), marital satisfaction (Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale), and fertility intention. Data were analyzed using correlation tests and multiple linear regression in SPSS version 26. Results: Participants had a mean age of 36.7 ± 8.1 years and 1.8 ± 1.0 children. Fertility intention was positively correlated with social and environmental HRQoL and marital satisfaction. SES was associated with HRQoL but not directly with fertility intention. In regression analysis, marital satisfaction (β = 0.200, p = 0.018), social HRQoL (β = 0.265, p = 0.034), and number of children (β = 0.168, p = 0.024) were positive predictors of fertility intention. Diploma-level education was negatively associated with fertility intention (β = −0.198, p = 0.016). Conclusion: Marital satisfaction, social HRQoL, and number of children were significant predictors of fertility intention, whereas SES and physical and psychological HRQoL were not directly associated with fertility intention.
