A Optimal Design Standalone PV-Battery System for Rural Electrification from Techno-economic Analysis Perspectives: A Case Study from Khorasan Razavi Province

چکیده :
The adoption of standalone renewable energy systems presents a novel approach to electrifying remote rural regions in Razavi Khorasan province. Among these areas, Bargish village, located 17 km from the utility grid, has recently undergone electrification through a standalone low-voltage microgrid powered by photovoltaics (PV) and batteries. This paper conducts a techno-economic analysis of the PV-battery system implemented in Bargish village, addressing various technical and economic challenges. Utilizing simulations conducted through Homer software, the study reveals that the energy cost for the microgrid amounts to approximately $0.21 per kWh. Furthermore, the analysis demonstrates that deploying the PV-battery system proves to be a more cost-effective solution for the village compared to utility grid extension, particularly given its remote location.
