Artificial Intelligence in Finance and Business: Applications in Risk Management and Fraud Detection

چکیده :

This study investigates the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in financial fraud detection, comparing the effectiveness of various machine learning models using a large, anonymized dataset representing financial transactions collected between 2020 and 2023 from institutions in the Middle East, specifically the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. The research evaluates models such as XGBoost, Random Forest, LSTM, and Autoencoders based on performance metrics including Accuracy, F1 Score, and AUC. Results demonstrate that XGBoost outperforms other models, achieving up to 92% accuracy and 94% AUC, making it highly suitable for structured financial data. The study also emphasizes the importance of hybrid approaches and interpretable AI in building robust fraud detection systems. Findings suggest that AI offers a transformative opportunity for enhancing fraud prevention with scalable, real-time, and precise predictive models.
