چکیده :
The integration of two-way communication technologies into traditional power grids marks a transformative shift, enabling a wide range of advanced functionalities and introducing new capabilities. This study examines the foundational technologies behind smart electricity grids and highlights their practical benefits, including the facilitation of renewable energy integration and large-scale adoption of electric vehicles. Such advancements necessitate a robust upgrade to the existing infrastructure, which the smart grid provides. From a political economy perspective, the smart grid serves as a catalyst for new spaces of capital formation and economic growth. Furthermore, the transition from centralized, hierarchical energy systems to decentralized, automated, and networked models is expected to revolutionize the entire energy supply chain, from generation to end-use. These changes represent a significant step toward sustainable development and improved energy management.
