چکیده :
Background: The operating room is a complex environment in which professional relationships, interpersonal communication, and ethical culture may influence teamwork and healthcare delivery. Ethics in the operating room encompasses professional relationships, teamwork, and organizational responsibilities [1]. Despite attention to clinical ethics, professional boundaries among operating room team members have received less direct attention. This study aimed to explore the relationship between ethical culture and professional boundaries with interpersonal relationships, psychological safety, and a human-centered approach. Method: This narrative-analytical review examined scientific literature addressing operating room ethics, ethical climate, teamwork, professional boundaries, humor, psychological safety, person-centered care, and spirituality in healthcare. Relevant findings were extracted, categorized, and synthesized. Finding: The reviewed evidence indicated that ethical climate is associated with attitudes toward teamwork [2], organizational culture, and organizational commitment [3]. Mutual respect and professional interactions are important elements of psychological safety within surgical teams [4]. Humor and interpersonal familiarity may be part of healthy workplace interactions; however, inappropriate content or disregard for individual and professional boundaries may negatively affect relationships and trust [5]. A human-centered approach also emphasizes respect, individuality, and the quality of relationships within healthcare environments. Conclusion: Ethical culture in the operating room extends beyond patient-related decision-making and includes the quality of relationships among team members. Professional boundaries can provide a framework for protecting dignity, respect, and psychological safety. Empirical investigation of the relationship between professional boundaries, teamwork, psychological safety, and safety culture may contribute to the development of human-centered healthcare services. Keywords: Ethics, Operating Rooms, Psychological Safety, Interpersonal Relations, Teamwork, Patient-Centered Care.
