چکیده :
With the expansion of urbanization and the increase in traffic challenges, the use of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) has become a key solution for improving the efficiency and safety of urban transport. These technologies utilize tools such as machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G networks to predict traffic patterns, optimize routes, and reduce driving-related stress. On the other hand, the mental health of vehicle drivers, especially in large metropolitan areas, is influenced by various factors such as job pressures, traffic congestion, and exposure to stressful situations. Studies show that urban drivers often suffer from issues like anxiety, insomnia, and depression, which can negatively impact the safety and quality of transportation services. This article takes an analytical-descriptive approach to examine the role of smart transportation in the mental health of drivers in District 22 of Tehran. The findings indicate that strategies like real-time monitoring of driver health through smart systems, the use of predictive algorithms to alleviate traffic, and improving communication between vehicles and infrastructure can help reduce psychological pressures and enhance safety. Moreover, integrating these technologies with educational programs and psychological support for drivers represents a significant step towards sustainable urban development. Implementing intelligent transportation systems not only increases urban traffic efficiency but also plays a crucial role in improving drivers' mental health by reducing stress factors. Achieving safe, efficient, and humane transportation requires collaboration among urban planning disciplines, psychologists, electronic engineers, and city managers. The aim of this research was to investigate the impact of smart transportation on the health of drivers in District 22 of Tehran. Methodologically, this research is applied in nature and combines descriptive-analytical approaches based on field studies, documentation, and library research. The necessary information was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS software
