Effects of DG Sources on Distribution Network's Harmonics, Simulation Analysis and Comparison

چکیده :
The performance of equipment within distribution networks varies and can significantly impact network components. Therefore, understanding how distributed generation (DG) units, as commonly used equipment in these networks, affect various elements of the distribution system is essential for effective future planning and predicting network behavior under different circumstances. To assess the influence of distributed generation on distribution networks, we examine the effect of these resources on the harmonic components of a sample network, utilizing various energy generation sources. Furthermore, we evaluate the impact of wind, diesel, and solar energy generation sources on the sample network using DIGSILENT software. The findings reveal that while distributed diesel generation sources have a considerably smaller effect on network harmonics, their use is often restricted to smaller units due to environmental concerns. On the other hand, wind energy generation sources tend to have a more pronounced impact on network harmonics. As a result, solar energy generation is preferable for distributed generation in distribution networks.
